Funding is always a vital consideration and we succeed in being a very cost-effective organisation, however, if we are to meet the challenge ahead, it is necessary to seek continuous support.

Our grass roots connection together with the majority of our board members being local residents ensures continued dialogue, this enables us to be proactive and respond to the needs of the community. The staff team are aware of the limited resources and ensure the funds raised are used effectively.

CURRENT FUNDRAISING

Our Family Day Centre will open early in June 2000 and we are actively fundraising to ensure the Centre is fully equipped, a warm and welcoming place for our young parents and their children. The Centre aims to assist those young families experiencing poverty and isolation by offering, a service to single parents which includes workshops/advice sessions, parenting skills, child development, sex education, health & safety, and be tailored to the needs of our young families. Creche facilities will be available, as well as a safe play area, The garden, presently in a state of dilapidation, will be transformed into an area for education and leisure. Features of the garden will include a sensory garden, a herb garden, raised beds with plants and shrubs to attract birds & butterflies, a wormery and trellises, hanging baskets and a seating area where the wonder of the garden may be observed and appreciated by all. There will also be a safe play area. We hope to encourage a lasting love of nature and the environment, which will grow with the young families attending our Family Centre.

All donations are gratefully received.
